Even as we approach the darkest day of the year, the Winter Solstice, we are confronting a time of intensified and often violent polarization of energies and aims in our human world. All that we hold dear and sacred --life itself--seems to hang in the balance.
It is a time when we stand in need of remembering and opening into our being's essential source(s) of support: what nourishes and sustains us, gives us strength and courage and moves our heart and spirit to embrace and affirm the gifts and gift of life.
You are invited to participate in a yoga practice inspired by this present human need and by the deep instruction of the cosmic poetry the Winter Solstice embodies. In the depth of stillness and darkness always and already is the turning-- the ancient cyclical dance of light and dark-- whose mystic wellspring we know dimly, intimately from inside. We invite an opening into that source and to a deepening of our awareness of the whole continuum of life that flows from it.
The practice will take us into a healing and restorative experience of asana, breath, movement and sound, which will lead into meditation and a closing ceremony.
All are welcome. Please contact Marya directly for questions and to register: firstname.lastname@example.org.
